Yoga On The Mountain begins as everyone gathers at the base of Tussey Mountain. Together we hike up Deer Run, about 20 minutes from bottom to top and steep enough to invite rests and a breather while turning around to take in the views behind you. The yoga practice takes place on top of Tussey Mountain with a breathtaking view of State College, PA. The class is co-taught by a volunteer team of local yoga teachers from Yoga Lab. Following the class you can stay to take photos, relax, and hike back down at your leisure.

Hiking up and flowing together in nature amidst beautiful views of town and distant mountain ranges is a reminder of our individual and communal significance in the bigger picture. This event is a reminder for us to feel our strength in community to create positive change together.

Yoga On The Mountain began in 2015 when yoga teachers Kristen Boccumini and Anne Williams collaborated with Tussey Mountain to create an inspirational event to gather the community for a beautiful experience of yoga while collectively making a difference in the world by supporting a charitable cause. We’ve raised $9,810 since inception in support of a number of local and global charitable causes.

Soon after the creation of Yoga On The Mountain, Kristen opened a local yoga studio, Yoga Lab, in 2016 with partners Anna Engels, Jeremy Engels, Mark Agrusti, Ariel Xu, and Theo Thwing. Yoga On Mountain remained an unaffiliated event for 4 years, led by Kristen and community yoga teacher volunteers until gaining the support of her studio Yoga Lab. Along with generous support from Tussey Mountain, Yoga Lab continues the Yoga On The Mountain mission to gather the community for yoga on the mountain at Tussey to support a great charitable cause. Yoga On The Mountain continues to grow from your support and the contributions of many innovative minds aligned in this shared heart-felt purpose.

Please join us! And be a part of the collective that together is making the world a better place now and for the future.
